How to write a legacy letter

- Keep it personal, not legal: Echo is for words of love and memory, not wills or binding documents.
- Say what might otherwise go unsaid: Pride, gratitude, stories, wishes. Specific memories weigh more than general advice.
- Choose release or a date: Fixed delivery on a future day, or release by someone you trust when the time comes.
- Share your code carefully: For release, give the release code only to people you trust.
What works especially well
- A memory only the two of you share: a line, a place, a small shared habit.
- What you admire in them and rarely say out loud.
- A wish for their path, without instructions.

What belongs elsewhere
- Wills, inheritance instructions, or other legally binding directions.

How release works
With Echo-5 release, your letters stay securely held until a person you trust enters your release code at startecho.ch/start. You receive one private code per account - it applies to every letter in your account waiting for release, not to a single letter. When the code is used, all those letters enter the release process. You then have a 14-days window to cancel before printing and delivery are scheduled.
